HeyCrush publishes analytical writing about cross-cultural relationships, including the realities of building one across distance, language, and culture. This page explains how that content gets made, because you should be able to judge whether to trust what you read here.
Who writes this
Articles are published under the HeyCrush Editorial byline. They are produced by our in-house team using a structured research and drafting process, with editorial oversight from the people who build and run HeyCrush. We do not use invented personas or fake author biographies. Where an outside expert reviews an article, they are credited by name.
How articles are produced and checked
Every article starts from a researched brief covering what readers actually ask, what existing coverage gets wrong, and what this article must explain. Drafts then pass through a multi-step review process that checks factual claims, internal consistency, and analytical quality before publication. Claims that can be verified against sources are verified; where precision is not possible, we say so rather than inventing numbers. Statistics you read here either come from a cited source or from our own product data, identified as such.
Our editorial stance
We write realistically rather than romantically. Content about dating across cultures is full of fantasy and flattery; ours is deliberately not. We would rather lose a reader who wants reassurance than mislead one who wants the truth. Articles do not contain affiliate links and we do not accept payment for coverage or placement.
Where HeyCrush the product fits in
HeyCrush operates a dating app. That is how this site is funded, and article pages carry clearly marked signposts to it. Those signposts are kept separate from the editorial text: the writing itself is not advertising, and no article exists to sell you something.
